GPA Cape has other events already scheduled on
September 26 and October 3. Any other weekend is fine.
Pit Rescue is, so far, open for the months of Sept & Oct. I am trying to tie in Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislature (MAAL) and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification with any activities I plan. Parks & Rec did have a Sept. date for their Canine Swim at Capaha Pool. I've already thrown away the paper and their website isn't working right, so I don't have that date. Melanie Coy Humane Society has the following already scheduled, Saturday Sept 26th Bark in the Park, Saturday Oct. 10th Downtown Canine Fashion show and Saturday Oct 17th Bark at the Bank. Later, Greetings! |
| May 9th Scott city Women's Club

May 9th How about Saturday September 19...it is five days before autumn begins...the new moon is a day before and its Rosh Hashanah. What can go wrong?!?! AND it will not RAIN.....and it is the last day of the semo fair...will you have any money left??? |
May 9th
Rollin, Sounds like you
have a lot of great ideas. We used a local petting zoo once at the shop and
he did not charge only asked for extra food for animals and water - I am
sure he had insurance. I will find out for you. I also know of a band that
may play pretty pretty cheap.....I will find out about that too. What did
you have in mind for the Women's club to do? Set up our own booth and make
money for the adoptions or just help out where we can? As far as dates, I
do not think we have anything going on in Sept or Oct. as of right now. |

This is my thinking on this, One, if we are going to have water...then it needs to be warm. Two, it would be great if we can reach out to kids...best way to do this is have kids already in school...so we can reach them more effetely. Adults can be target through groom shops, dog food lanes at pet stores, and their local vets. So we can pick a Saturday or Sunday from the time kids start school and before the fair starts if we want to do water events in this. If not then we need to choose a later date....if so that could leave HS out because they have other events. Petco has the HOWL-O-WEEN event the last Saturday in October---WHICH I WILL HAVE TO ASK A ADOPTION PARTNER TO HOST AND TAKE PICTURES. also, we also need to be looking at Park's calendar to make sure there's no other booking. the Time Marilyn posted is ok? Once we can decide on a date...this can start moving forward. 1. Location: Capaha Park

May 10th
You asked for ideas on time. How about 11:00
to 4:00? That would work well for lunch foods for venders. If you have
someone cooking BBQ roasts for sale, the visitors could take them home at
the end of the event.
Why couldn't the Bark in the Park be earlier
or be in conjunction with the Petco event?
I see a possible problem being that for a big
carnival event like this being immediately after the fair, that people and
their kids are carnival out...
Will they come to this event so fast after the
big county fair?
I think we are searching for the general
public as well as pet owners right? To make such a large event a success,
I think this event is for kids and pet owners or big kids at heart?
Right???
My favorite weekend date would be the last
week of September or two weeks after the fair.
Roberta's idea of the CGC in conjunction:
thinking outside of the box and that date too is a good idea.
WONDERFUL ideas Rollin: for the activities.
